In Memory of Dr. Stewart Wu

July 12, 2015

To a dear friend...life has a way of moving us away from family and friends and yetthey remain dear to us. Dr. Wu mentored me in so many ways, especially in the Chinese culture. Every other month or so he would take me into Chicago and introduce me to the leading pastors of the community. He also introduced me to dim sum, shark fin soup, and barbecued rooster feet. And now, here I am, almost twenty years later, pastoring a Chinese church in Lake  Oswego Oregon. One never knows the impact you can make on a young person's life. Dr. Wu made an impact on mine. I will have fond memories. Our sympathies to Dixon and his family.

Dr Wu was a great man with a passionfor people. He was concerned for the whole person, both body and soul. He was a personal mentor for me, I can only hope to pattern my life in some small way to his. I loved Dr Wu and am greatful to have served with him on the mission field on several occasions. I look forward to spending time in eternity with my dear friend, Dr Wu.

I have never met a better man. I worked at Porter Memorial on the surgical unit for many, many years. Dr. Wu never failed to bring a smile to the face of everyone he spoke to. He lived an exemplary life and earned his reward. He was loved by every nurse he worked with, every patient he cared for, every person whose path crossed his. I can still see that smiling face and hear that gentle voice.

Dr. Wu And Fannin were not only our Doctor but personal friends and spiritual helps. We will remeber his Bible studies, the many meals they prepared, the time they allowed us to vacation at their home in San Deago.

I had the pleasure of caring for many of Dr. Wu's patients post surgery while working at Porter Memorial in the1980's. He was a fine doctor and foremost, an exemplary man. He was always respectful to the nursing staff, but most importantly, to his patients and their families. Dr. Wu will be missed by many. We who worked with him were very fortunate. God Bless Dr.Wu for all his Christ like work.
